Solar Gardens loves Art and Artists. We have our own ceramic studio here at Solar Gardens where Chris produces original ceramic art, typically unique and one of a kind.
Chris designs and creates a variety of ceramic art including pots and containers for growing succulents, unique vases for cut flowers, dinnerware, wall sconces that project light, garden tiles, garden statuary and garden art, to name a few. His processes include hand building, slipcasting, mold making and unique glaze development and experimentation.
Chris has invented a number of glazes that are not produced anywhere else in the world except at Solar Gardens. He has taken many ceramic workshops and seminars throughout the world and has been extremely fortunate to have studied with some of the most creative and talented contemporary ceramic artists of our time.
Chris looks forward to advancing his ceramic education on a continuing basis with more of the world's leading ceramic artists.
If you do not find any ceramic art at Solar Gardens that suits your specific needs, Chris would be pleased to discuss commissions and projects that might appeal to you for your own unique home and/or garden.
Solar Gardens has a number of other Artist friends whose work grace our property, either as our own private purchased collection, or being sold at our retail centre. We anticipate more possibilities and connections in the future.
One such artist that Solar Gardens is thrilled to represent is Saskatchewan metal and glass artist Don Pell. Don is definitely a "one of a kind" kind of artist. Don prides himself on never having made the same piece of artwork twice. Truly, every piece is unique and original.
Don specializes in both large and small garden sculptures featuring handblown glass and welded metal elements. Many of his larger works are kinetic and gravity defying. While viewing his larger sculptures, hope for even a slight breeze so that you can witness swirling and twirling and flying objects dancing in harmony above the landscape.

Or on a smaller scale, place his pieces containing glass in a brightly lit window and observe colours beyond imagination projecting about your room. From Don's artistic mind springs fanciful fish, mythical creatures, and whimsical heads and bodies for guarding your garden and planting plants, to name just a few.
